Subsumption Architecture

Overview

Subsumption architecture was pioneered by Rodney Brooks at the MIT Mobile Robot Lab. It is described in his papers and in Mobile Robots: Inspiration to Implementation by Joseph L. Jones and Anita M. Flynn. It is a design for an intelligent system which utilizes multiple layers of task-achieving behaviors.
